Community Involvement:

Lorey grew up spending summers in Madison before moving here full time when her children were in grade school. She has watched the town grow from a sleepy beach town to a bustling community. Her long and lasting relationship gives her insight into Madison's unique characteristics and philosophy. Meig grew up in Madison as well as Fairfield County but after graduating college in Washington D.C. couldn't wait to return to this beautiful area. Karen grew up in Old Lyme. The daughter of an army officer she spent her formative years traveling around the world with her family. This experience gives her a unique perspective on the needs and demands of clients having to relocate quickly. She has been in Madison for nearly 10 years. While we may have lived elsewhere for spurts, Madison has always been our love. We look forward to showing you why.

Areas Of Expertise

Chelsea's expertise lies in her knowledge of the Connecticut shoreline, her love for the outdoors gives her insight into what each area has to offer. Chelsea's 10 plus years experience in sales and marketing coupled with owning a small online business provides her clients with a robust skillset that will benefit both the buyer and the seller.

Personal Background

Chelsea is from the small town of Old Saybrook Connecticut on the shoreline and also spent 3 years in Blackheath England, right outside of London as a child.  Chelsea went to Old Saybrook High School and moved away to the Big Island of Hawai'i for her Bachelors of Science degree, where she studied Agriculture and Aquaculture. In Hawai'i she worked as an oyster and fish farmer, as well as a technician for an algae farm.

After moving back she worked for a non-profit in Connecticut's capitol, Hartford for 3 years. She managed community gardens and started an Urban Farming program that helped local residents start their own farming businesses and farms in Hartford. Chelsea also worked with Hartford Public School System and The Department of Agriculture to establish the first Farm To School program in Hartford, using Hartford farmers' produce. After leaving Hartford, she started her own small business as a certified manufacturer of organic beauty products. Chelsea lives on a small farm in Guilford Connecticut with her husband and two rescue dogs. She enjoys boating, hiking, skiing, yoga, riding her motorcycle and volunteering for the Town of Madison as a Shellfish Commissioner.

• Karen is a new member to the Walz Team. As a Shoreline resident for over 35 years, she has an extensive knowledge of the area having grown up in Old Lyme and now residing in Madison with summers spent in Westbrook. As a military brat and mother of twins, she understands that time is of the essence in the sale or purchase of a home. It's imperative to Karen to help her clients find just the perfect house in which to build those wonderful memories. She understands that buying or selling a home is an emotional process and Karen is with her clients each step of the way. When not working, she can be found volunteering at her children's schools or delivering groceries to seniors. She was also a former Vice President of The Madison Newcomers Club and Chairperson MBC Children's Committee. She enjoys tennis, running and working out. Karen is a graduate of the University of Connecticut with a pending Masters from Southern Connecticut State University. She is also staging and redesign certified. She lives in Madison with her husband Leighton, twins Alexandra and Quinn and her bulldog Angus. She looks forward to helping you with all of your real estate needs.
